Preparing for Landing: Capital Campaign and Construction Update
A Place to Soar: The Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School Campaign for a New Monarch Wing is now 93% towards our $7 million goal, with more than $6.5 million committed. Thanks to the generosity of alumnae, parents, friends, and foundation partners, we are well positioned to complete this transformative project.
The renovation of our 1955 cafeteria, pictured above, is on track for completion by the first day of school on September 3. This space is being transformed into a modern kitchen, servery, touchdown area, and school store. The new wing—featuring a community and dining commons, seminar room, two classrooms, and counseling center—is slated for completion in January 2025. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of our builder, Berks Ridge, we anticipate it may open ahead of schedule.
These achievements are a testament to the unwavering support of the Gwynedd Mercy community. No tuition funds have been used for this build; rather this $12.5 million project is being realized through contributions, unrestricted investments, and financing.
Help us reach our goal by making your gift or pledge today. Recognition opportunities remain available, including sponsorship of the Mercy Legacy Walk honoring the Sisters of Mercy, inclusion on the Donor Recognition Wall, engraved bricks, and the chance to have your photos included in the Monarch butterfly photo mosaic. Pledges can be fulfilled over one to five years.

Ensuring A Bright Future: Class of 2024
On June 1, Gwynedd Mercy celebrated the 109 young women of the Class of 2024 at the Academy's 163rd Commencement. The ceremony featured inspiring speakers reflecting on their transformative journeys at Gwynedd and their readiness to embrace the future.
Commencement Speaker Kelley Malott DeConciliis '99, who serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Institute of World Politics, captivated the audience with her message on resilience and pushing beyond comfort zones. With more than 20 years of experience in international operations and counter-bioterrorism, Kelley's career exemplifies the impact of a Gwynedd graduate. Notably, she volunteered to help rescue female students and U.S. allies from Afghanistan in August 2021.
Thank you to our donors for making these achievements possible and for supporting the bright futures of our graduates. Your impact helps them make a difference in the world. |
Turning PA Tax Dollars Into Financial Aid: EITC/OSTC Program
The Gwynedd Mercy community extends our deepest gratitude to our alumnae, parents, grandparents, friends, and business partners who support our school and families through the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) and Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit (OSTC) Programs. Your contributions are providing needed tuition assistance to 64 qualifying young women for the 2024-25 academic year.
We are also thrilled to share that the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has increased the EITC/OSTC Tax Credit caps by $75 million ($55 million for K-12 scholarships) for the 2024-25 budget. This expansion will enable approximately 17,000 additional students statewide to benefit from EITC scholarships next year. Our goal is to support even more qualifying Gwynedd Girls by increasing participation in the program for GMAHS this fall.
Participating in the EITC/OSTC program is simple and impactful. By redirecting your PA state tax dollars to Gwynedd Mercy, individuals and businesses can earn a significant tax credit while directly supporting our students and helping us to expand our reach and impact. Tax credits are currently available. Join us in making a difference!
